FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Why is my air conditioner not blowing cold?

We get this question at the beginning of every season. Here are some helpful tips for you to troubleshoot before you call a technician.

  1. First things first, check your thermostat and make sure that it is set for Cool. If the thermostat screen is blank you may just need to replace your battery.
  2. Check your air filter. A clogged air filter can drastically impact your unit's ability to cool. We suggest that you change your air filter at least once a month during the peak summer months. If you are a landlord, we strongly encourage you to ensure that your tenants are maintaining their filters regularly.
  3. If you have a ground unit, make sure it's clear of any debris or plant life that may be impacting the airflow and most importantly you need to look at the air condenser coils to make sure that they are clean.
  4. This is one of the most impactful issues that we have every season, you should have your coils cleaned at least once a year by a certified technician. If you have a rooftop unit, we strongly encourage you to call a technician if the troubleshooting that you've done does not result in any joy. We do not encourage you to go up on a roof.

  5. Check your breaker box and ensure that the fuse switch is in the "On" position.
  6. Check the disconnect switch on your unit and ensure that it is in the "On" position.
